Kajakbryggan’s rental station at Björholmens Marina is located on the northwest coast of Tjörn, in a charming fishing village surrounded by the Stigfjorden Nature Reserve.
From here, you can paddle out into Stigfjorden – a sheltered inland sea dotted with rocky islands, calm bays, and blooming coastal meadows. The area is perfect for both beginners and experienced paddlers, whether you’re heading out for a short trip or spending a full day on the water.

How the rental works
The station is unmanned and open from May through September. Simply book online and you’ll receive a code by email once your booking is confirmed. On site, unlock your equipment with the code and handle everything yourself. If you need assistance, the staff at the hotel reception are happy to help. Restrooms are also available there.
Kayaks and pedal boats
We offer both single and double kayaks for those who want to paddle together. The kayaks are stable and glide smoothly across the water. All necessary equipment is provided – paddles, life jackets, and spray decks are stored in the kayak and should be returned after your trip. The kayak station is located at the lower end of the hotel parking area, right by the water and a lovely sandy beach.
Our pedal boats is located on the pier at the small beach. They are sturdy and well-built, seating four to five people, with two pedal-equipped seats at the front. The boats are easy to use and move surprisingly fast through the water.

The renter is responsible for taking proper care of and using the equipment correctly. In cases of obvious negligence or theft, the renter may be held liable for any resulting damage or loss.
• Always show consideration and follow the instructions provided on site.
• You have to be able to swim.
The general terms and conditions, as well as the purchase terms, are available at the time of purchase and must be accepted before completing the transaction.
A life jacket is included in the price and can be found in each watercraft. Remember to put back your life jacket, spray deck and your paddle into the kayak before you shove it into it’s booth when you’re done.
Adapt your tour after your own skill-level. If it’s your first time kayaking or paddleboarding, stay close to shore at all times. On the lake, the right-hand rule applies, and as a paddler, you must always give way. If you turn over with your kayak, don’t panic. Get out and hold on to your kayak and paddle. If you’re not experienced, the best thing to do is to swim with you kayak to shore and empty it of water.
Björholmens Marina offers toilets for visitors to Kajakbryggan. The toilets can be found next to the Marina, as well as showers and changing rooms.
You find public toilets in the guest harbor.
Visitor parking is available adjacent to Björholmen’s Marina. A parking fee applies.
The distance from the car park to the Kayakbryggan’s unmanned rental station is approx. 10 metres.

In cooperation with Björholmen’s Marina, Kajakbryggan has established an unmanned rental station that consist of single kayaks, double kayaks and pedal boats.
An unmanned station means that there is no assisting staff on site, so you handle the pickup and return of the watercraft yourself.
Björholmen’s Marina has a reception with staff present if there is any unexpected problems.
Booking and payment are made on the website.
After completing your purchase, you will soon receive a confirmation email with the code to the lock.
A life jacket is included in the price and can be found in each watercraft.
Please make sure to return the life jacket to the same place when you are finished using it.
