Kayaking on Lake Sävelången
Nääs Fabriker is located by Lake Sävelången in Tollered, in beautifully preserved 19th-century brick factory buildings that today house a hotel, restaurants, cafés, and shops.
Lake Sävelången is long and narrow, stretching between Tollered, Floda, and Norsesund. Its calm waters make it ideal for both short outings and longer paddling trips.
From the rental station at Nääs Fabriker, you can easily get out on the water and explore the lake at your own pace, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced paddler.
How the rental works
The station operates on a self-service basis and is open from May to September. You book online and receive a code by email once your reservation is confirmed. When you arrive, use the code to unlock the equipment and manage everything yourself. If you need assistance, staff are available at the hotel reception, where restrooms are also available.
The station is run in collaboration with Nääs Fabriker. After your paddling trip, you can enjoy a meal at the hotel restaurant or browse the shops in the area.
Kayaks, pedal boats, and SUP boards
The station offers single kayaks for one person and double kayaks for two. The kayaks are stable and easy to handle. All equipment is included — paddles, life jackets, and spray decks are stored in the kayak and should be returned after your trip.
The pedal boats are located by the hotel’s pier on the lake. The kayak station stands next to the boathouse, where SUP boards are also available for rent. The boards are stored in a rack along the boathouse wall.
Each pedal boat seats four to five people, with two pedal-equipped seats at the front. They are easy to operate and move smoothly through the water.

The renter is responsible for taking proper care of and using the equipment correctly. In cases of obvious negligence or theft, the renter may be held liable for any resulting damage or loss.

• You have to be able to swim.
The general terms and conditions, as well as the purchase terms, are available at the time of purchase and must be accepted before completing the transaction.
A life jacket is included in the price and can be found in each watercraft. Remember to put back your life jacket, spray deck and your paddle into the kayak before you shove it into it’s booth when you’re done.
Adapt your tour after your own skill-level. If it’s your first time kayaking or paddleboarding, stay close to shore at all times. On the lake, the right-hand rule applies, and as a paddler, you must always give way. If you turn over with your kayak, don’t panic. Get out and hold on to your kayak and paddle. If you’re not experienced, the best thing to do is to swim with you kayak to shore and empty it of water.

By Car
Nääs Fabriker is located about 20 minutes by car from Gothenburg and Landvetter Airport, and 10 minutes from Alingsås. If you are arriving by car from Gothenburg, take the E20 towards Alingsås and exit at junction 90, Tollered. If you are arriving by car from Alingsås, take the E20 towards Gothenburg and exit at junction 90, Tollered.
By Bus or Train
You can reach Nääs Fabriker by bus from Gothenburg. It’s also possible to take the commuter train to Alingsås from Gothenburg and then continue by bus (lines 561 and 533) to Tollered/Nääs Fabriker.

Parking
Visitors can park for free in the hotel’s parking area for the first 2 hours via the Parkster app, after which the rate is 15 SEK per hour.
Nääs Fabriker Hotel & Restaurant is located right next to Lake Sävelången. There are restrooms available here, including an accessible toilet. The restrooms are maintained by the hotel and follow the same opening hours. Click here to read more on Nääs Fabriker’s website.
In collaboration with Nääs Fabriker, Kajakbryggan has established an unmanned rental station for kayaks and pedal boats.
An unmanned station means that there is no assisting staff on site,
so you handle the pickup and return of the watercraft yourself.
If any unexpected issues arise, you can always contact the staffed reception at Nääs Fabriker.
Booking and payment are made on the website.
After completing your purchase, you will soon receive a confirmation email with the code to the lock.
A life jacket is included in the price and can be found in each watercraft.
Please make sure to return the life jacket to the same place when you are finished using it.
The area around Nääs Fabriker is largely accessibility adapted, making it easy to get around with, for example, a wheelchair or stroller on most surfaces.
Please note: Kajakbryggan’s operation is not accessibility adapted. We don’t have any special aids for getting in or out of the watercraft, and our kayaks, SUP boards, and pedal boats are not specially adapted.
Nääs Fabriker offers options both for those who want to enjoy a good meal, have a drink, or simply a coffee. If you are not a guest at the hotel, drop-in is available subject to availability. Call the hotel at +46 (0)31-799 63 00 to ensure that seats are available.

At Pannhuset, you can enjoy freshly ground, house-roasted coffee, homemade ice cream, a really good lunch, and plenty of other treats such as grilled sandwiches and delicious salads. In the evening, the fire is lit in the furnace, and food is cooked over an open flame — sometimes directly in the embers. Dogs are also welcome here. Read more here

Welcome to a brewery and bakery with the good taste to share each other’s ingredients. Here, leftover bread from the bakery is used in the brewing of beer, and the malt left over from brewing is used in baking. A circular approach that enhances the flavors. Read more here
